The Camps

Since 2009, the 1st LT Jared M. Landaker Memorial Foundation has worked tirelessly to fulfill a vision close to our hearts: sponsoring children of military members to attend Camp Whittle in Big Bear Lake.

That first year, we proudly sponsored 16 children. Year after year, that number grew—and today, we sponsor over 200 children annually. Since the beginning, we’ve had the honor of sending more than 6,000 children to summer camp.

These camps give kids a chance to step away from the challenges at home, explore the outdoors, learn new things, and connect with others who understand what it’s like to have a parent who is fallen, wounded, active duty, reserve, or currently deployed.

This handmade quilt by Jackie Smith in Texas is a touching tribute to the legacy of the Seven Stars Foundation and its impact on over 6,000 military children from 16 camps.

The transition to the 1st Lt. Jared M. Landaker Memorial Foundation continues the mission of honoring Jared's legacy—a Marine CH-46 pilot who was killed in action in 2007. While the organization's name has changed, the focus still remains on supporting the families of fallen heroes, active, and veterans through various charitable initiatives.
